@EricTowers The spelling “viꝫ”has an entry in Wiktionary; the character ‘ꝫ’ (Unicode U+A76B LATIN SMALL LETTER ET, see here) is a medieval abbreviation mark for “something ending in -et or -est”: so “viꝫ” stands for “videlicet”, and the ‘ꝫ’ was later reinterpreted as a ‘z’, giving that “viz.” spelling. Now that the ‘ꝫ’ character is in Unicode, I like to use it. (Most people probably don't even notice the unusual spelling, although I guess this depends on whether your fonts make it seem out of place.)
